The WatchTower Cult's infamous, decades-long prohibition against performing military service, and even performing service as a conscientious objector, is well known and well documented. However, the WatchTower Cult's stance with regard to memorials, funerals, and/or burials with FULL MILITARY HONORS for deceased exemplary Jehovah's Witness Converts has been so well hidden that the vast majority of Jehovah's Witnesses do NOT believe that an exemplary Jehovah's Witness Convert even would request "military honors" at their funeral or burial. The vast majority of Jehovah's Witnesses believe that if such a request was made that the local Body of Elders would refuse to officiate at such a funeral and/or burial, and if the deceased Jehovah's Witness otherwise received a funeral and/or burial with "full military honors", the local Body of Elders would refuse use of the local Kingdom Hall not only for that funeral and/or burial, but the local Body of Elders would refuse use of the local Kingdom Hall for a separate "memorial" service for that "no longer exemplary" deceased Jehovah's Witness Convert.

MEDAL OF HONOR RECIPIENT DENIED FINAL "MILITARY HONORS" BY JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES

Elder Matthew Griner, COBE at the Anderson, Indiana Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses was selected by Melvin Biddle's wife and children to "preach his funeral". Their "disrespect" for Melvin Biddle's accomplishments and what Melvin meant to this community apparently brought the ire of the locals. It is understood that Matthew Griner relocated sometime thereafter. Note that the article below was written in the most conciliatory manner possible.

Melvin Biddle: Reluctant Hero
By Rodney Richey
The Herald Bulletin
Dec 17, 2010

Melvin E. "Bud" Biddle, the soft-spoken Anderson [Indiana] native who went on to receive the Congressional Medal of Honor for his role in World War II's infamous Battle of the Bulge, died Thursday at Saint John's Medical Center. He was 87.

Gov. Mitch Daniels, upon hearing the news, issued a statement saying, "We call them the Greatest Generation for a reason, and in Melvin Biddle we have just lost one of the greatest of the great. Every Hoosier is proud that our state produced such a man."

Biddle was the last living Hoosier to have received the Medal of Honor. His death leaves a total of 86 living Medal of Honor recipients.

"It's quite a loss to the community and to the state," said Stephen T. Jackson, Madison County historian. "He was a hero, and we don't have that many heroes today."

Leona and Melvin Biddle, childhood sweethearts, had been married for 64 years. She said in a statement only one thing: "I've lost the love of my life."

Linda Stanley, his niece, said that Biddle "was definitely my hero."

"He didn't like to talk about the war too much, about what he did. He did quite a lot. What he did was amazing."

It was Christmas 1944, when Pfc. Biddle found himself with the 517th Parachute Infantry Regiment near Hotton, Belgium.

A graduate of Anderson High School, Biddle had left his job with Delco Remy as a draftee into the U.S. Army. Now he was in the thick of the Battle of the Bulge, a last-gasp German offensive.

Though taken by surprise, the Americans fought back, in temperatures that reached below zero.

Biddle was scouting ahead for his unit when he encountered three German soldiers. Biddle quickly shot them all.

Then, the next night, Biddle was met with 17 German soldiers. Singlehandedly, Biddle engaged them, killing all 17, reportedly with 19 shots.

Less than a month later, Biddle took shrapnel. As he lay recovering, Biddle discovered that he had been nominated for the Medal of Honor, for what the order would later call "intrepid courage and superb daring."

Biddle would always admit to a certain amount of fear while in combat, especially when he was out front.

"But I lost a lot of fear because I was out there and couldn't let the troops down," Biddle told Madison magazine in 2008.

According to family and friends, Biddle had led life on his own terms, shunning the spotlight except for the occasional interview. He never reveled in or glorified his exploits, say those who knew him, though he was within his rights to do so.

Former Madison County Circuit Court Judge Fred Spencer, himself an Army veteran, knew Biddle well enough that, rather than "Judge," Biddle referred to him as "Spence."

"It's a cruel coincidence -- or maybe fate made it happen that way -- but he died on Dec. 16, which was the day the Battle of the Bulge started in 1944," Spencer said Friday.

Toni Ledbetter, bar manager at American Legion Post 127 on Columbus Avenue, said that Biddle had always been a "very special person."

"I've been here 18 years, and Bud was an everyday person," Ledbetter said. "He'd never go around bragging about what he did."

Biddle's wife and family are Jehovah's Witnesses, said granddaughter Lauryn Wicevic. To honor their beliefs, Biddle had requested his funeral not include a military observance.

According to Ledbetter, military honors will be rendered Monday night at the Legion.

"He was the best," Wicevic said Friday. "He took care of all of us. He was the rock in our family. He was what held us all together."

"It was a rare honor and pleasure to know one of Anderson's real World War II heroes," Spencer said.

"Probably the finest compliment that could be paid to him was by President Truman, who (speaking about the medal) told him on Oct. 12, 1945, 'I'd rather have this than be president.'"

MEDAL OF HONOR RECIPIENT DENIED FINAL "MILITARY HONORS"
JEHOVAH'S WITNESS FAMILY REJECTS MEDAL OF HONOR

African-American Ruppert Leon Sargent grew up in Hampton, Virginia, as a devout Jehovah's Witness. Despite the prohibitions of the WatchTower Cult, Sargent enlisted in the U.S. Army after graduating from Virginia State University, a historically black school in Petersburg. Sargent spent six years as an enlisted man before being accepted for Officer Candidate School. He was commissioned an infantry second lieutenant in 1965.

In September 1966, Sargent, who by then was married and had two small children, deployed to Vietnam as a platoon leader. Sargent rose to first lieutenant, and then was offered the position of company executive officer.

On March 15, 1967, while investigating reports of a Viet Cong meeting house and weapons cache in the jungles west of Saigon, Sargent spotted a camouflaged tunnel with a booby-trapped entrance. He tried to destroy it with grenades. When that failed, he moved in with a demolitions man. They flushed out an enemy soldier who was killed by the nearby platoon sergeant.

Sargent then moved toward the tunnel entrance with the platoon sergeant and another soldier. A Viet Cong emerged and threw two grenades at the three Americans. Sargent rapidly fired three shots at the enemy soldier. He then threw his body over the two grenades and absorbed the blast. Sargent's sacrifice saved the lives of his two comrades, who sustained only light wounds.

Lt. Ruppert Sargeant's Jehovah's Witness Wife and Jehovah's Witness Mother refused to allow the U.S. Army, the City of Hampton, various veterans organizations, or others to celebrate Lt. Sargent's heroism. Sargent was buried in a quiet ceremony at Hampton National Cemetery.

When Lt. Sargent's Medal of Honor was approved in 1968, Sargent's widow, Mary Jo Sargent, declined to accept the MOH based on her WatchTower Cult beliefs -- only the second time in history that a next-of-kin had declined to accept America's highest military honor. Mary Jo Sargent was fully supported by Lt. Sargent's Mother and other Jehovah's Witness family members.

The U.S. Army and Mary Jo Sargent finally agreed to a private presentation. On March 10, 1969, Brig. Gen. Donly P. Bolton drove to the Sargent family's home in Hampton, Virginia, to personally hand the MOH and Citation to Mary Jo Sargent. The only others present were Sargent's two small children.

In October 2002, the City of Hampton named a city administration building the "Ruppert L. Sargent Building." A nice life-size bronze statue of Lt. Ruppert L. Sargent stands in front.

Well, SURPRISE!!! WatchTower Society founder Charles Taze Russell regularly officiated Masonic funerals, and once even officiated the military funeral of the then ranking Confederate General.

Here is a collection of approximately 200 recent obituaries sufficient to prove what is the actual WatchTower Cult "don't ask - don't tell" policy. These obituaries (note that we even have found FOUR JW FEMALES) have been heavily edited to only contain the info relevant to our topic, so as to reduce read time. Anyone thinking that our edits change the status of the deceased is welcome to view their full obituary by simply cutting-n-paste "phrases" into Google. One challenged African-American Jehovah's Witness's (More than half of all JWs on this page are A-A, which is significant given that A-As constitute less than 15% of the general population) obituary photo was taken with him wearing a suit while standing in front of a well manicured brick building with the white letters "KIN" above "JE" showing to his right side.

Hypocritically, one of the deaths below includes an exemplary deceased Jehovah's Witness who received a burial with "military honors" at a veterans cemetery. That JW was NOT a convert, but instead, he had been reared as a JW, and he had been baptized at age 15. That JW apparently was drafted during the Vietnam War, and he served in the U.S. Navy. Per WatchTower policy, that JW should have been disfellowshipped or automatically considered disassociated when he entered military service. Now, decades later, at the death of that JW, his Body of Elders ignored, and/or condoned, and/or ratified the very military service for which that JW was honored at his death, but had been dishonored by the WatchTower Cult back during the Vietnam War.

Another edited obituary below shows a Marine sergeant killed in action during the Korean War receiving a JW officiated funeral -- with full military honors. "Military honors" during wartime typically are maxed out -- 21 gun salute, honor guard, etc. I observed one such during the Vietnam War.

SPAMMING OF ONLINE OBITUARIES BY JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES

Sorting through the obituaries of JWs and non-JWs to locate the contents of this webpage also has shown us how despicably WatchTower Cult recruiters have for years been SPAMMING the obituaries of non-JWs whom they don't know for no other reason than to "put in their time". We were motivated to make this statement after just viewing a non-JW obituary that had 4 comments -- all four from four different keyboard JWs who did NOT know the family. Thirty minutes later, now that I'm noticing ... the very last 3 of 9 were JW SPAMS -- all on different later dates. TAKE THE TIME to email a complaint to the WEB HOST.

Before beginning the list of JW Funerals with Military Honors, we post TWO actual obituaries for the education of our readers. The first obituary demonstrates that MOST JWs understand that it would be highly inappropriate to permit "military honors". The second obituary demonstrates how otherwise "exemplary" Jehovah's Witnesses conveniently "forget" WatchTower Cults beliefs when doing so benefits them. This Editor once was "besting" a MULTI-GENERATION Jehovah's Witness in a doctrinal debate when I was stunned to hear that frustrated JW yell at me: "YOU ARE GOING TO BURN IN HELL FOREVER."

(Readers should remember this as they view the 170 obituaries below.)

LIMITED OBITUARY:

Jackie Paul Musgrove, 70, Graveside Service ... June 3, 2011 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Inurnment: Fort Bliss National Cemetery with full military honors

OBITUARY COMMENTS:

I'm sad to hear about Sarge's passing. My years in JROTC at Jefferson High School had a lasting impact on my personal development. The teachings, supervision, leadership and friendship he provided me and my fellow cadets made for a tremendously enriching high school experience. I especially appreciate all those extra hours of supervision he put every day after school and on Saturdays to allow us to practice to be #1. Through my friendship with Angie, I was glad to be able to be a part of his wedding to Lidia. -- FORMER JROTC STUDENT OF DECEASED.

Today would have been our 29th wedding anniversary and I miss Jack more than ever. ... I want so badly for this system of things to be over, so that I can see him again when he is resurrected. I pray that Jehovah's new scrolls will allow me to marry him again and that we can live forever together with perfect bodies, perfect minds, and perfect thoughts and above all, perfect love for one another. The thought, of Jack and I living together in perfection and worshiping Jehovah forever, is fixed firmly in my mind and in my heart. I pray continuously to Jehovah to help me cope with this tragic loss until the day that He fulfills his promise in Revelation 21:4: "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." I will love my husband forever. -- JEHOVAH'S WITNESS WIDOW.

You received many blessing from Jehovah through Jack. Some were that he supported you in your service to Jehovah. He made items for you that were very important with his creative skills. He allowed you to stay out with me in our ministry late at night with no questions because he trusted us. He displayed what Jesus quoted at Matthew 7:12. So as you see this items or reflect on the past where Jack is concerned count your blessings. We all wait to see Jack walk on the path of life in the new world with that smile of his. What a gorgeous man you will see and run to hug him with a big kiss. I remember a specific day when Jewel and I went to visit you all and she hugged Jack with all her little heart and Jack just smiled. Keep on praying to Jehovah to help you endure until the 1000 yr reign arrives.-- FELLOW JW CONGREGANT OF WIDOW ASSURING DECEASED'S RESURRECTION.

Jehovah's Witness Families who have been denied the use of their local Kingdom Hall for the funeral of one of their JW family members because the local BOE has judged the deceased or even one of the deceased's survivors as not being sufficiently "exemplary" should take note of the following deceased who received a Kingdom Hall memorial service.
